F.A.Q.

A. In trying to make a living for myself, I seem to be doomed to doing only contract jobs, which means there are always periods of times when I'm out of work (usually for a month or so). Although I didn't want to start doing my other story, Children of the Apocalypse, as a weekly serial, I did want to try something.

A. I struggled with the story for several months after I first came up with the concept. I loved the characters and I loved the idea, but I realized early on that it was meant to be a series, but wouldn't fit in well as a novel. For example, as much as I love the show The Office, it wouldn't work as a feature film, IMO, but has infinite possibilities. And unlike Children of the Apocalypse, I didin't have defined plot arcs, timelines, or ending points in mind--so I can literally write it forever.

A. Probably, lol. But I firmly believe that everything must be done to better service the story--including the medium in which it's written. Curio Killed the Cat belonged in this format.

A. A new chapter is posted every Monday. When donations reach $50, I'll post a bonus chapter on Friday. (This means that if we can ever reach $50/week in donations, the story will update twice weekly.)

A. Roughly two thousand words, or so. CotA chapters tend to be 5 - 8K, which is fine monthly, but seems too excessive for weekly chapters.

A. That's the way it wanted to be written? Honestly, that's the best answer I can give. I tried it in third person, but that didn't work. Not to say it will occasionally be written in first person...just for now.

The name of the narrating character will always be posted before their section, however, so it shouldn't be too difficult to follow.

A. It's a first draft, sweetheart. Think meeting someone when they first get out of bed in the morning before they've brushed their teeth or dressed or combed their hair. On the bright side, you can help influence the story and later drafts of it--kind of like being there as that person you met who just woke up is deciding what to wear for the day, how to style his/her hair, etc. Honestly, do you think there would have been that much romance in CATHARSIS had the shippers at my forum not been so insistent? Nope, there would have been no wild and crazy monkey love between Eve and Rune if it wasn't for them. So if you don't like romance, come by the board and tell us!
