And So Ends Points...

The point of introducing the points system was because I wanted to temporarily scale down the community while I figured out if I wanted to continue writing the serial or not (since, at the time, I had chapters written until the end of the year).

The good news: I do want to continue writing it because I enjoy having a smaller audience. The bad news (depending on your perspective): the points system is a fail, so we'll be moving to something subscription based.

A big part of this decision came from the number of readers who blatantly tried to abuse the point system, and the constant attempts by people to find a backdoor into reading future chapters. I'll admit: I was quite hurt. I spent a lot of time trying to explain that this wasn't a decision I was making lightly, and to show my perspective and reasons for doing this--that nothing is "free" and I think it's important for readers to value work they enjoy. And a whole lot of people seemed to miss that message.

The other reason we're going subscription only is because I've lost my second part time job, and with the growing concerns regarding my dog's health, I need to pull in some extra money. I can't keep up with the freebies while living in poverty.

An announcement will be made in December about exactly how subscriptions will work (as I haven't a clue yet). As always, the archive will remain in the site, as will Catharsis and Curio Killed the Cat. If you'd like to donate in the meantime and check out chapters 8 - 10 (as well as 11 & 12 when they're posted), please do. But points are hereby "dead" as a way to join in with chapters currently being posted (I *will* develop a way for points to still have a purpose here, just haven't decided yet).

Any questions, please let me know.
