TV Crushes
So it's Valentine's Day. Or it will be tomorrow. I thought that it would be a good opportunity to look at pictures of cute boys. Or something. Anyway, onto my top five TV character crushes.
5. Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice
I know I'm going to get in trouble for putting at the bottom of this list, but it was technically a mini-series and not a TV show. So he shouldn't be on here at all, but he's too pretty to leave out.
Everyone loves Mr. Darcy because he's that brutally hot and even though he seems like a total asshole prick, he of course has a heart of gold. He's just misunderstood! No one could have an awesome house like Pemberly and be totally evil, right?
Let us gaze for a moment before moving on.
4. Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer
Honestly, there was a time when Angel would have ranked higher than #4, like when I was younger and totally into the angsty, true love, melodrama-etc thing.
But now I'm twenty-six and way too old for that shit--I'll take nice guy true love any day.
Also, so not into the whole "he was the love of my life until he turned into a sociopathic monster who found ways to stalk me and screw over my life" anymore. Been there, done that, and didn't get to send him back to hell in the end. Yet.
Still...my goodness, isn't he pretty? I so adored him.
3. Logan from Veronica Mars
He's a complete jerk, sure, but then...you find out his father beats him, and it all falls into place. Poor Logan! He's The Damaged Bad Boy. Although he's self destructive, all he wants is your love. Well, Veronica's love. And then she treats him like crap. But anyway...
As if being a bad boy desperate for love and dying to devote himself to you entirely isn't enough, he's also rich. Wheee! And always finds a reason to take off his shirt.
I miss Veronica Mars, if only for Logan. Why isn't he still on my TV? Can Joss please bring him on Dollhouse? Please?
2. Jim from The Office
He's clever, bratty, tall, and adorable. He put Dwight's stapler in Jell-o, convinced him that he was receiving letters from his future self, made him believe in vampirism, and all sorts of other wacky things. And then he randomly proposed to Pam in the rain and I squealed like a little girl. Oh, and he bought her a house. Sure, he accidentally broke up her parents, but only because he said nice things about her, so it's okay.
I love Jim Halpert. I think I'm even a member of a Facebook group called, "I'm a Little Bit in Love with Jim Halpert." Really, who isn't?
I think he would have ranked higher if not for the whole dating-Karen-thing.
1. Agent Cooper from Twin Peaks
I don't know if Agent Cooper would have ranked as highly if I hadn't been rewatching the series lately. But he was my first TV crush (at age 7), and he's still number one.
Besides the fact that he's brilliant, spiritual, and compassionate, Cooper has integrity. He's fair and respectful to people, and always tries to do the right thing. Yeah, okay, so things don't necessarily work out well for him in the end, but...still, he tried.
Happy Valentine's Day.
