What is "Evil" Anyway?

Shhh... Don't tell anyone, but I'm not sure what I'm doing here. I'm a little concerned that one of my fellow Evil Writers is going to figure out that I'm not evil at all and kick me out of the cool kids club. I'm not sure how I got here, but I have to say, I feel pretty lucky that I am here.
Let me tell you a little something about our Evil Writers... it's a secret, though, so keep it under your hat.
Ready?
Okay... here goes:
THEY'RE ALL FABULOUS, WONDERFUL PEOPLE.
And I am genuinely proud to call them friends.
They may claim to be evil, but evil is all about perspective, right? From the inside of the Evil League of Evil Writers looking out, it doesn't seem so evil in here. But maybe that's just because I started drinking the Kool-Aid.
This is a group who is supportive, generous, and friendly. I've seen them band together and raise money for a fellow member when she needed it. I've seen us grieve when someone lost a family member. I've seen then band together and threaten retribution when someone was hurt. And I've seen them provide a forum for discussion when I need to know something about publishing, or when we just want to bitch about the universe.
Sometimes, we all need that outlet. A chance to say exactly what's on our minds, without fear of repercussion. And that's what we're doing here.
Welcome to the Evil League of Evil Writers - had a bad day? Share it here. We'll help you eviscerate your evil ex, your pointy-haired boss, your demon neighbor... in print (unless you're willing to pay for our other services *wink*). We're happy to help lighten your burdens just a little bit by pointing out the humor or just offering empathy when there is no humor to be found.
I guess what I'm saying is that if my snarkiness and unwillingness to take stupidity and intolerance from others is what got me into the Evil League of Evil Writers, then there should be more groups like us. The world could do with a little intelligence and support.
So as long as they don't figure out my secret, I'm going to do my best to stand up to the Evil League of Evil Writers code. I'm proud to be evil. Because I'm proud to be like the other members here.
But don't spread it around too much... I don't want you to ruin our reputations.

I wont tell. ;) I was keeping the secret from the start as the members I've chatted with previously are very kind and wonderful people. But, when it comes to the books... well, they are just cruel. Cruel I tell ya! And keep me wanting to come back for more. ;)

You're so right in that. Evil is in the eye of the beholder.
People think "oh, she's so nice" when I do something that could be construed as kind, when really I just take pleasure in making them cry. Someone I used to work with once said, "Dina, you're always so happy and you always have a smile on your face! You brighten my day! How is it that you're always smiling and nothing seems to ever upset you?"
To which I replied, "First off, it's not a smile. I'm gritting my teeth and it comes from me putting up with the constant annoyances of the stupid people I'm forced to endure on a daily basis. I do smile, though, and that is usually a result of schadenfreude thanks to said stupid people and amusing myself by contemplating how best to dispose of those who annoy me."
She laughed and gave me a hug, and told me she refused to believe it.
I almost bit her.
